If we look past this moment in time to all the other moments that must come after it, how many more of our fellow brothers and sisters are destined to die like this? Or to suffer the same anguish of such immeasurable loss?
The most cursory examination of the past and the present would seem to indicate that their number will always be much too high, a constant reminder of human fallibility and weakness.
And, as in the past, will our responses and reactions be much the same? We agonise, we weep, we pray, we question, we try to understand the reasons why.

But we are not gods; we cannot order the universe as we would wish. At the same time, we are not entirely helpless.

Experience teaches us that there are always answers to be found. Sadly, most of these reach us far too late to be of much use; only in retrospect are we wise enough to fathom such mysteries.

So, when are we ever going to solve just one of them ahead of time?
