		<description><![CDATA[It would be nice to see a certain orderliness and regimen enter into matters of Israeli public life and those of many a Middle Eastern context generally.  

Israel&#039;s election process next week might benefit greatly from just such an overhaul in that area  To an outsider like myself, the numbers and choice of contending parties is bewildering enough; how any form of stable government can emerge from so wide a spectrum of candidates seems almost beyond belief.    

Maybe the adoption of a few Anglo-German sensibilities could go some way towards improving the lot of peoples and places where so much of what is happening remains far too arbitrary and random for the common good.

Even the Arab-Israeli conflict itself might be better directed in such a manner. The results could hardly be less dire than those already encountered in a situation basically unaltered during the course of several generations.
