As I cover the narrative of the startup and innovation ecosystem of Israel, and in my travels outside of the country, many people I encounter often refer to Tel Aviv as Startup Nation.
While the metro Tel Aviv area certainly has a bulk of the ecosystem’s startup activity, I have to remind people that Startup Nation is – about Israel, and not just Tel Aviv.
The fact of the matter is that Israel as a whole, and not just Tel Aviv, has a rich and very diverse stock of intelligent very smart and capable founders working on what could be the next big thing.
Haifa, Ashdod, Afula, Nazareth, Sderot and Be’er Sheva are just a few of Israel’s many periphery startup communities, all with their own unique contribution to the Startup Nation.
If you have a startup and want the opportunity to pitch your company for funding to ten highlyvery qualifiedhigh profile investors and corporate representatives in a very unique setting, then the MoneyTrain from Terra Venture Partners is for you.
According to Gil Abrams, who heads Business Development and Innovation for the firm, MoneyTrain Program Manager, ten investors and corporate reps will board a private train cabin and make over 30 stops intravel to eighteen cities, to meet and be pitched by one hundred and fifty startups on their journey through Israel. Through their three hundred and twenty kilometer journey, the train will embark on December 15th.
After you apply and are accepted into the program, you will simply drive to the closest train station near your community and (literally) get on board.
Starting from Naharyia, and traveling to Be’er Sheva and ending the tour in Tel Aviv, the startups accepted will board the train in their hometowns and have the 1-on-1 attention of the investors as they travel through on the country their your own home turf, without the need to personally navigate the painstaking process of getting themselves in front of influential investors, make multiple appointments, and meetings.
You will be meeting with members of the Terra Venture Partners team and their sponsors / partners from some of the world’s leading companies who are looking for compelling startups that can add value to their businesses or create new business opportunities for them.
Bosch VC, Motorola Solutions, Vertex Capital, Bank Hapolalim’s Polalim Hi-Tech, Tyco Innovation, ST Engineering, Deloitte, WeWork, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and more head up the program’s sponsorship partnerships.
This initiative is not only good for you; it’s good for the nation and the way the world see us.
If you are selected, you will also have the chance to share your story with media who will be covering the event. We want you to share your participation on the major social platforms and be part of something that goes beyond your pitch.
In doing so, it’s not only a chance for coverage about what you are doing, but to a higher purpose, a message to the world that there is innovation and incredible startups all over our incredible country.
