To Secretary of State John Kerry
Please allow me to express my sincerest admiration of your untiring efforts to promote PEACE between Israel and its neighbors and my complete support of the letter sent to you by a coalition of members of Knesset praising your peacemaking efforts and promising you their support.
Sir, from various statements you have made, it is obvious you are fully aware that indoctrinated irrational hatred is the most serious impediment to achieving peace between racial and ethnic groups be they Sunnis, Shiites, Arabs or Jews. In your April 30 press statement addressed to the ADL’s Centennial Summit you cogently wrote
“Hate is taught. And all of you understand that before we can rid others’ hearts of hate, the conviction to do so has to start in our own imaginations.
And in your video message to the ADL you said
“Anti-Semitism continues to be a dangerous menace. We need to continue to tell the world this is simply unacceptable.. We need to speak out, stand up and act against anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred wherever and whenever they occur“
I refer to your above remarks because I believe that if your commendable efforts are to stand even a remote chance of success the poison of INCITEMENT TO HATE must be openly addressed.
In a 2009 in-depth interview on Al Jazeera Judge Goldstone was asked what brings a country to commit horrific acts like genocide. He replied that dehumanization of the other is the primary factor. And as dehumanization of infidels, especially Jews, is a regular feature of Palestinian incitement, this fundamental contributor to the Arab Israel conflict cannot be ignored if your efforts are to produce a meaningful result.
Very sadly, the PA leadership as well as Hamas are promoting hatred with haunting echoes of Nazi ideology and Jews being repeatedly DEHUMANIZED in words and cartoons as monkeys, pigs, donkeys, rats, worms, scorpions, spiders and octopuses.
A program on Palestinian Art on PA TV proclaims
“Israel is a monster that stabs and eats children” Source: Palestinian TV (Fatah), July 13, 2012
A virulently anti-semitic TV series (“Khaybar”) is currently being filmed in Egypt and Morocco which will inevitably incite hundreds of millions including Palestinians, with disastrous effects on your peace efforts. Click here for more
Unfortunately, even PA President Mahmoud Abbas contributes to this atmosphere of hate by glorifying terrorists. In recent months his PA resurrected old terror incidents by naming several schools and a scout group after terrorist mastermind Dalal Mughrabi who led a group of terrorists that carried out a terror attack in 1978 in which 37 civilians were killed. Hardly a confidence building measure.
On January 4, in another confidence destroying measure he praised by name dozens of “martyrs” in a speech on PA TV (translated by MEMRI). Included were arch-terrorists Ahmad Yassin and Abd Al-Aziz Al-Rantissi, both of whom were responsible for terror attacks that killed hundreds.
The PA president added praise for tens of thousands of “martyrs’ including the Grand Mufti of Palestine, Hajj Muhammad Amin Al-Husseini, who is noted for having actively collaborated with Hitler during World War II.
Other programs on the PA-funded television channels indoctrinate children to hate as in this example
Secretary Kerry Sir, may I suggest with great respect that a few minutes watching the above video link may assist you in your awesome task of dealing with sincere Palestinians who desire nothing more than to live with dignity in peace and security, but who cannot help being influenced by having been subjected to this type of indoctrination over many years.
With admiration and respect, I echo your words to the ADL
“We need to speak out, stand up and act against anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred wherever and whenever they occur“
May I add that the time has come to put aside the hates and fears on both sides and strive towards achieving a solution which allows Palestinians and Israelis to live side by side in peace within a secure border like that between the USA and Canada, without fear of aggression by either party.
