Boycotts and talking about boycotts are much in the news at the moment. Indeed, they seem to have been of some serious concern to the Israeli administration lately and, no doubt, to many others who are themselves disposed towards or against such punitive measures.

But, rather than penalising one side or the other in this manner, why doesn’t the entire world get together and visit its disapproval upon the continuance and conduct of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict itself?

If the idea must be to boycott something or other, then surely this approach has far better prospects than what promises to be a somewhat inefficient and extremely long-term means of persuasion.
