As the “Weed out Hate” initiative saw 2013 as another fruitful year towards peace building, we remind ourselves of how Camp David (the famous United States presidential compound) brought on its horticultural and peaceful side.  In the late 1970’s, German businessman Gerd Horstmann, the son of the inventor of the Hybrid Tea Rose, was commissioned to present then-United States President Jimmy Carter with what was to become the Camp David Peace Rose, symbolizing the peace to come. Embedded within the spiritual roots of this rose are striking clues as to how to resolve the current Mideast challenges that would provide a blueprint for long lasting peace.  The details were discussed in my 2011 German language book, Der Himmelsgarten, published appropriately in the spring.

What inspired me to write this book was the cathartic experience of visiting the Dachau Concentration Camp for the very first time.  Amidst all of the expected horror, I experienced something totally bone chilling. These were the bone chilling cries of the mockingbirds from the surrounding majestic trees. As if they were heaven sent, I felt that Dachau was much more than a history lesson. It is a depiction of the choices we make for our own souls.  We can either weed out hate, tap our roots and surge the spirit of nature into our souls, or we can remained detached, unaware of being manipulated by others propagating hatred, as puppets on a string.  Since starting my “Weed out Hate” campaign three and a half years ago, I have harnessed the power of the “people’s media: be it Facebook,  LinkenIN, and Twitter, for retweeting the cries of the song birds for humanity to weed out hate and sow the seeds of peace.

Legendary civil rights activist Nelson Mandela, whose fight for equality and respect for all helped ascend him to the presidency in a post-apartheid South Africa, stated “‘No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion”. With all due respect, Mr. Mandela is half right. According to the Kabbalah, we were created in a state called Klipat Noga. We are  born with the ability to attract spirituality through our implanted spiritual roots. We are also born with inner weed seeds of hatred that can be germinated at any given time given the right conditions. These inner weeds detach us from feeling the spiritual roots that want to nurture us.

Over the past few years, I have been tweeting these bird cries at dozens of school assemblies at home and abroad.  To date over 50,000 sunflower peace seeds have been distributed.  In an effort to mobilize the kids, each pack of the seeds had a call to action trigger to email the White House at www.whitehouse.gov/contact.

Last April, Philip Murphy, the then Ambassador to Germany even used the concept to help relate Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr. to 80 local German students,   I believe that I have now acquired enough positive experience for taking this concept to the geo-political level.

In my opinion, the problem between Israel and Her neighbors is that  far too many Palestinians regard Israel as a detaching weed force, limiting happiness and redemption and vice versa. In such an environment where land has been in dispute for hundreds if not thousands of years, the slightest detaching force from the few, can cause the peace prayers of the many to precipitate back to earth like a Jerusalem snow storm.

According to my research, the fundamentalist interpretations, were all part of the Intelligent Design Plan to  create discord in all of our attempts for peace.  To create a framework for lasting peace, we must learn to tap our respective roots deeper than ever before. The deeper we dig, the more we develop an expanded perception of the universe, and all of the perceived differences that confounded us before would have all but  fade away. By developing the heavenly intention to weed out hate according to the internality of all of our religions, we draw and surge the Light throughout our souls and beyond.

I believe that Jimmy Carter, Anwar Sadat,  and Menachem Begin, were finely tuned souls and this is helped forge the  Camp David Peace Accord back in 1979.  This has held up in spite of turbulent Arab Spring forces.

Things are different now.  We can no longer  depend on our leaders for doing our work for us. We need to do the work  ourselves. This can only happen if we leap beyond the rose as a simple symbolic work product and begin to garden our own inner roses, along with our  inner trees and other vegetation.

The only way that peace dove will descend down upon us  is if we learn to weed out and compost hate, for enriching our Promised Land to  the extent that begins to garden our inner vegetation for promoting the ultimate  fruit and blossom connections with God and Nature. This is the kind of burning  bush intention that will attract all the doves in the spiritual universe. Every time a child roots of a weed of hatred, a  spiritual color fires up in our collective consciousness for the very  first  time. Just think the kind of high definition picture humanity would  feel for the  possibilities of future, if all the world’s children were to  root out symbolic  weeds of hatred.

To all those involved in negotiating this Peace Plan  and future ones, I respectfully submit this blueprint for your  consideration:

  1. All negotiators should read Der Himmelsgarten (Allegria Verlag,   Berlin March 2011) from cover to cover.
  2. President Obama should carry out my proposed globally televised Weed  Out  Hate event, staged from the White House kitchen gardens. Children from  all over  the world would come to this garden, rooting out seeds of hatred  and planting  Sunflower Peace Seeds in their Place. The President would  call upon two billion  children around the world to help the Middle Eastern  Peace Process by completely  that vision that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  set before us.
  3.  Landscape architects, religious leaders, scientists, and  negotiators  should come to the Geo-Political Border separating Gaza and  Israel to make  construct a network of Kabbalah Parks along the  frontier. Children from  both side would be invited to tug on and extract  weeds of hatred, and be given  plenty of opportunities to plant sunflower  peace seeds in field of dreams flower beds
  4. Kabbalah Parks should be integrated to all new settlement plans.
  5. Israelis should adopt the German model for universal access to   gardening.  Most people do not understand that Rudolf Steiner’s  Anthroposophy, the precursor to modern day eco-friendly gardening, was at  least  partially rooted in the Kabbalah. We need to help society rediscover  and  reconnect those spiritual and cultural roots that Hitler tried so fanatically to  sever.

Propagating this idea, all begins with YOU. One single  re-tweet. one single email to the White House can make the kind of difference that can even elicit a positive response from a President.
