The Talpiyot neighborhood was on both sides of the road. The Jewish part of Abu Tor was east of the road. So was  Ramat Rahel, a kibbutz where fierce battles took place in the 1948 war. So already between 1948 and 1967 there was no Arab contiguity between Jerusalem and Bethlehem.]]></description>
