YES, Mr. Liberman; as a proud citizen of the US, I'm well aware of the workings of the free-market system. I also followed the Presidential campaign, studied the candidate's positions, and VOTED – along with my son, his first time. My"diatribe" is at Ms. Schrader's attitude; the arrogance of her an like-minded others that all the issues I wrote about are nothing but "annoyances" to them, that we "others" have no right to "….peacefully petition for redress of grievances.", as that magnificent document, the Constitution, ensures to ALL citizens of this country.

Nothing but apologia, and blame. It's all the lefties fault. They're bribing the "others" (Who the conservatives hoped to "purge" from the voter rolls, because of the "massive" voter fraud they were all conspiring in!) with stuff so they'd vote Democratic. The issues the Democrats raised about the Republicans – letting the American car makers go bankrupt (And throwing hundreds of thousands of Americans out of work; but they're just a bunch of Commie union members, so they deserve it!) – true equality for gays and lesbians (More Commies!), the right of women to make their own health-care and reproductive choices, withot government interference (Just a bunch of sluts, according to Lord Limbaugh.) – why, these aren't important at all. The message from conservatives was clear; NONE OF YOU PEOPLE MATTER; REMEMBER YOUR PLACES THAT WE'RE ASSIGNING TO YOU; the unemployment line, the closet, and the kitchen and the nursery. Ms. Schrader's panacea for all this? "Free-market capitalism will equal the playing field for everyone." Then the "others" can be the bums, in the closet, and sluts they were meant to be. Ms. Schrader, we're not figures in your free-market machine; WE'RE PEOPLE, and have the right to be seen, heard, and RESPECTED. This is what your offended conservatives need to learn.

Emily Schrader I'm not so certain. Romney was the face of the Republican party during this point in time. If he had won, things would have been different in the other races as well.

You're too pro-GOP.

Romney failed for a myriad of reasons. Among them:
1) Few people were excited about his Presidency.
2) He could not reach the Hispanic voters (which he could have done simply by calling for a strengthening of relations with Latin America).
3) He could not get the women excited about him…though I don't know what he could have done about that other than call for the federal government to leave that to the states. His describing how his wife raised his children definitely worked against him here.
4) He did not push enough points consistently enough.
5) He tried being Presidential too hard and subsequently lost the debates overall.

The list goes on, but the main point is that this campaign was nothing to be proud of.
