Bolstering support from within the population, 3. Showcase & capitalizing on wider backing from Qatar, Egypt, Turkey. 2. Force Israel & Egypt to review the blockade (expect to see more open border crossings with Egypt in near future, as well as a softening of Israel's blockage).

Israel's main benefit was to live-test its anti-missile defense systems and test out it preparedeness in a day-after strike on iran scenario… I just hope it doesn't come to that.

The precision drone strikes against Hamas' leaders had the effect of hiding, in clear sight, the real Israeli attack, namely, the defensive triumph of Iron Dome, which obliterated the Hamas strategy of massacring Israelis and forcing Israel into destructive ground combat. Operation Pillar of Cloud marked the strategic ascendancy of a new weapon, the anti-missile system. For this reason, it will be seen as a transformative conflict in world military history.
