I will give and give for my kids. Without end and with the firm expectation they won't have a clue what I did until my grand kids are at least 5 years old.

It takes a lot of self sacrifice and elbow grease. That is for sure. They make it look easy, but maybe with the attitude of giving instead of receiving love goes a lot further and lasts longer. Those are my thoughts on love.

This is an amazing appreciation. So well done. Way to go.
I wonder from the examples you gave if our parents and ancestors had to ride out the turbulence and "stretch" so to speak so they could love each other selflessly. But, as kids, we did not see that nor understand it if we saw it or remember it. Perhaps. I have similar recollections of my parents but, my mother can tell me (while I'm almost 40) that it took LOTS of elbow grease to get there. Clearly, it was worth it.
