actually, I would have to agree with tuvia…in the early 1970's israel was hardly a democracy while under labor rule….morrocans and yeminites were considered to be "the second israel" and many moshavim and kibbutzim would not accept them as members…and it was acknowledge by the jewish agency that the "volunteer" system was based on racism….finally…president truman outright refused to meet with anyone from israel or any american zionist organization…which is hardly the case today with netanyahu.

How can a US president who supports the anti-Semitic and anti-American Muslim Brotherhood and who helped Egyptian President Morsi come to power be a friend of Israel is beyond me. How can a US president be a friend of Israel and give $900 to Hamas a regime which in its Charter , Article 7 has the fo9llowing text:

Now, Article 7 s taken from Hadith Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 177 and quotes the Prophet Muhammad, so the possibility that Hamas is somehow in due time going to become more moderate is nil. Hamas is not going to abandon their Prophet.

Noami Chazan – it seems like that either the nurse forgot to feed her again and/or forgot to administer her medication. I think what we are witnessing is another case of nursing home abuse/neglect in Israel. This is something that the political parties of Israel should address as part of their respective election campaigns. Can someone please report is case of abuse/neglect to the proper authorities?

Chazan's New Israel Fund was exposed as having financed nearly all of the orgs who submitted defamatory claims against Israel for the Goldstone report. She then had the unmitigated chutzpah to suggest that democracy was under threat in Israel because she and NIF were criticized for funding groups dedicated to the eradication of Israel.

Anyone reading her rubbish should know that she is committed, heart and soul, to the end of a Jewish sovereign.

I would be interesting in knowing how exactly Israel is becoming increasingly isolated. As Naomi Chazan is a Professor, I would expect her to make claims that are supported by academic inquiry. By what standard can Israel be considered increasingly isolated? Off the top of my head It seems the most relevant factors would include how many countries recognize Israel, the number and size of diplomatic missions in Israel, the number and size of diplomatic missions Israel has abroad, Israel's international trade statistics, and the extent of foreign cooperation in the fields of business, medicine, agriculture etc.

When one says Israel's isolation is "increasing," one is using quantitative terms. This should be backed by data.

As with any state of affairs in the social sciences, there will always remain an element of subjectivity – but this does not excuse an academic from jumping to conclusion in a matter that has not been sufficiently analyzed.
