We are starting to see already RFID and NFC technology that will let your phone talk to a retailer and therefore the retailer to you directly, sometimes even changing the message dependent on where you are in their store ("Hey, have you forgotten the yoghurt? It's on special and you've just walked past it…"). Shopping may never be the same again…

If just one innocent life is saved by our wondrous new inventions, I say bring it on!
