Classic Jewish liberalism at it's worst. The Egyptian was beating a Jew. So Moses killed the Egyptian. There is no hint in the text that this is viewed as a 'bad' decision.

You, Rabbi, shed more tears for the oppressor than you do for the oppressed. This is bad enough. It happens to be unforgivable when the oppressed are your own brothers and sisters.

What an ill-informed article. The author hasn't even bothered to get his facts right before he makes pronouncements. Criminals prefer weapons that can be concealed. Rifles of all sorts are involved in only one percent of the violent crimes in the U.S. Getting rid of all of them–an utter impossibility–would make no difference in our murder rate. The few murders that are now done with rifles would just be done with handguns.

And talking of 'assault rifles' as if they were terrible things is equally uninformed. The popular AR-15 design uses a.223 bullet that's so underpowered, some states ban its use in hunting game like deer. It's popular with both police and homeowners because the bullet is tiny, fragments easily, and is less likely to penetrate walls than most other rifles, shotguns, and pistols. That makes it safer for self-defense. Its low recoil also makes it easier for women to use and that military look that so scares limp-wristed liberals often means a criminal surrenders without a fight. (Criminals often know as little about guns as liberals.) The best weapon is one you don't have to use.

Please lay off insulting the great majority of the American people, who would never murder anyone. We're not the equivalent of these crazed killers, and we take great offense that you'd attempt to compare us to them or to be absurd enough to think that disarming us will disarm them. Our country's gangs import drugs by the ton. It'd be trivial for them to also bring in guns and high capacity magazines by the thousands.

One final note. Someone who is this willing to libel and slander really shouldn't be moralizing like this. Verbal violence at that level, equating those who disagree with the author with Klansmen who opposed Martin Luther King, is not that different from physical violence. it's nasty, it's unprincipled, and it does nothing to solve the real cause of most of this violence–rotten inner city schools, drugs, and fatherless homes.
