Hamas made me smile

Today is New Year’s day, 2018. I picked up the Jerusalem Post and one of the front-page headlines immediately brought a smile to my face. It read “Hamas calls Friedman ‘racist’.” Surely you are thinking: ” this woman has a warped sense of humor?”

The Arab ability to understand the Western mind and to manipulate our language and trigger-points is exceptional. They have come a long way in their war to win the minds and hearts of their potential enemies in Europe and around the globe. They cleverly invert truth by abusing our own language and imagery, and the Western world is swept away by meaningless words.

This past week I was invited to hear a fascinating lecture by Mordechai Kedar, professor of Islamic affairs from Bar Ilan University and research associate of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies. The talk was crammed full of important information.

Professor Kedar reminded the audience of the essence of Islam and the Koran. His Arabic is flawless and his life’s work has been spent studying the religion which defines its people. His understanding of their goals and their passions was illuminating. I would like to share some key points with you as they are critical to fully understanding the current Arab fury over President Trump’s recent announcement acknowledging Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. There are two  totally different perceptions: one Muslim, and another from those trying to placate them.  The Non-Muslim nations actually believe that a “peace process” exists – that there will one day be a compromise, and that a decision on Jerusalem was to be part of that negotiation. They are furious that the recognition of Jerusalem before that process somehow stymies it. After all- that is what the Arabs claim to be critical.  This is not the reason that the Muslim nations were angry over the proclamation.

Please consider the following as presented by Professor Kedar:

  • The entire Islamic world believes that the world was created by God and began in Mecca.
  • Unbeknownst to the rest of us, they believe that everyone born into the world was Muslim in the beginning … and that the Jews and Christians are the infidels who corrupted the faith. They believe all references to Mohammed and Islam were removed by Jews and Christians from their holy texts to deceive the world.  To historians this makes little sense as Mohammed was born about 570 AD… long after the Torah texts were written and the birth of Christianity.  In fact, Mohammed was discredited at the time, because he actually included stories told to him by a Jewish friend, from the Torah, which he inserted in chapter twelve of the Koran.
  • To the Muslim world, their primary purpose is to return the world to its’ rightful faith, and to remove the infidels from this world. In order to achieve that, they agree that Jews must be eliminated from the land of Israel. Doing so would remove their core, their heart and their right to exist.  Acknowledging that the Jewish people have a right to Jerusalem as their capital, nullifies the continued attempt by the Muslim world to eradicate Jewish historical rights to the land of Israel. The proclamation accepts that Jews have right to exist in their land and that their holy connection to Jerusalem is beyond dispute.  Muslim ultimate goals to discredit Jews and their homeland are at the core of the daily United Nations condemnations of Israel. This was at the heart of the push by Arab states to hold the U.N. vote against President Trump’s proclamation.
  • While this might sound like a bit of Western hysteria and surely a misreading of intent, one needs only look at the logo of the Birzeit University in the West Bank to see that hidden in its crest, written in Arabic next to a clenched fist, is a call to commit terror on behalf of Islam.

You might rightly ask why then, did the European nations also join in the vote against the acknowledgement of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The Europeans and their friends have been totally deluded into believing that there is a united Palestinian people rather than a group of tribes who actually hate one another. (Which also explains why Muslims kill one another in Mosques at prayer – and why no Arab States offered to absorb their “Palestinian” brothers.)  Because it is the way of the West to try to create order, they accepted the illusion of one Palestinian people ,(rather than a cluster of insular tribes who never marry outside their clans), which was cleverly and systematically presented to them by Yassar Arafat.  America then anointed Mahmoud Abbas (born in Safed Israel) to continue the façade and labeled the Fatah movement as “moderate.” Facts be damned… Arab intransigence was ignored. Intent was rationalized. Hence, now most nations actually believe that the Palestinians want a state of their own, side by side with Israel. They do not. They are only interested in removing Jews from their homeland in order to eradicate the infidels and reclaim the land for their own. The non-Muslim nations support the preposterous “peace process” because it curries favor with their local Muslim constituencies and because they cannot accept that they have been duped from the beginning. Hundreds of meetings including thousands of international negotiators have wasted their time and careers courting favor with Palestinian leaders while not facing their actual intent from day one.

In its essence, the entire Palestinian cause was devised by Yassar Arafat as an attempt to fulfill the primary goal of Islam.  It is their divine purpose to remove the Jews from this earth as they do not accept Mohammed.  It is critical to their cause that the Jewish heart which focuses on Jerusalem, be in despair.  Jerusalem is the impediment to their campaign to eradicate Judaism and Jews from the Middle East, and ultimately from the world.  As Judaism is at the core of Christianity- the Christians are the next target in their long-term plan. The tacit support the Palestinians receive from the Vatican proves that the delusion has spiraled out of all proportion.

The threats by Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum that Hamas plans to ”end Oslo” to punish President Trump, also made me smile.  Oslo was ended long ago.  Unfortunately, no one in the Western world wanted to face the reality and funding continues to flow into the private accounts of Palestinian leaders who now have multiple homes, Saville – row tailored suits, and reap the financial benefits while their people continue to suffer.

So perhaps it is not now so hard to understand why, when reading Hamas’s claims that David Friedman is a “racist”, that I could not help but find some humor in the insanity of it all:  Very real antisemitic racists who advocate violence against, and murder of the Jews have the audacity to point a finger at Ambassador David Friedman in order to deflect world attention from the actual facts on the ground.

It really isn’t funny.
