svietka….you see I write a torah commentary every week…do you think the Times of Israel would permit me to do that if I didn't know what I was talking about ? I have also written a book about the Bible…..

Svietka…as you know I discussed this at lenght with alex. The torah CLEARLY says that abraham was selected becuase God knew that Abraham would teach HIS ways to his children. THe way of God is alwys, even to this very day, understood to mean "the laws of God". Second, in next week's Torah portion God will CLEARLY say to Isaac that Abraham obeyed all of God's laws, commandments and statutes….Sounds Jewish to me….

But let me get this straight: you are saying that little Svietka is Jewish, but Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, plus all of his sons and grandsons are not Jewish. Is that what you are saying? Svietka is Jewish, but Abraham is not Jewish…Interesting point of view…..

Dror Ben Ami abraham was not jews-there were no jews yet…u obviously read tora as a "mashal" for whatever u want to adopt as a way of life and whatever is convenient for u…picking and choosing. U may know the written but i dont see u seeing the hidden, the soul of tora. This is not the place and i for sure am not the person to try to make u see the neshama of tora…katonti

So the covenant, symbolized in the flesh by way of circumcision, inheres of three fundamental elements: the covenant itself, people and land….probably why Europeans and gay extremists are up in arms about circumcision.

this is a somewhat confused commentary rabbi….the covenant between god and abraham does not take place in "chayei sarah"…neither does the circumcision itself…

what you wrote about jewish wives is absolute nonsense….judah had a jewish wife? joseph had a jewish wife? moses two wives were jewish? king solomon's first wife was jewish? ahab's wife jezebel was jewish? she was the mother of two kings, yes. but she was not jewish…

finally, the torah clearly says the israelites can marry canaanite virgins. canaanite virgins are jewish?

all in all, not such a good job this week…maybe you should stick with Hegel….
