A strange article that doesn't even mention the huge extent of Israel's own diamond industry, which itself finances human rights abuse in Palestine.

Polished blood diamonds constitute a far bigger problem for the diamond industry than “conflict diamonds” – a term that only applies to rough diamonds used by rebels to fund violence against legitimate governments.
The Israeli diamond industry contributes about $1billion annually to the Israeli military which stands accused of war crimes by the UN Human Rights Council, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
The discredited Kimberley Process refuses to ban blood diamonds that fund human rights violations by government forces and allows diamonds from Zimbabwe and Israel to contaminate the global market.
Most of the world’s leading jewellers fraudulently claim that diamonds processed in Israel are conflict-free. Consumers can have no confidence in the ethical provenance of any diamonds as long as jewellers continue to facilitate the trade in blood diamonds that fund war crimes in Palestine.

It doesn't have to be that simple. There are plenty of locations in Africa where there's no risk of conflict issues, like Botswana. On Hezbollah, it's more a matter of mapping out the connections the group has in the diamond industry, which are probably extensive but a lot of that work could be done just looking at family affiliations of the merchants.
