i agree. to God's written word only…..but there's a snag, by whose interpretation??? each rabbis has his own version of God's truth,and every one person has his own gringo out there in the senagoque.

the hettites,the jebbushites and other canaanites cannot be jew by choice. but they can stay in israel as a proselytes if the wished to by adhering to the jewish system,but never a jew.

a non jewish person but adopted the Jewish form of worship and custom is not a JEW but a proselyte, by religion. just a convert to judaism not a jew by blood. i am a filipino and converted myselft to the religion of mormonism doesn't make me an american,but makes me a mormon.

I cannot agree with DBG. Well,that is his opinion only not God's. I am a filipino by blood and nationality. I am fun of everything Jewish except Judaism. Now if I think that I am a Jew,would that automatically transform me into a Jew? I see it as self-deception.

being jewish has no bearing anymore as to having God's favor. there is no more jew or greek according to the apostle paul. ALL who express faith to Jesus ransom sacrifice by doing God's will is acceptable to God be one is a Jewish or not. ethnicity doesn't count with God,it is the doing of his will is.

IF being a Jew is meant ethnicity then bloodline is the arbiter. Then if one just convert himself to the Jewish form of worship or religious belief, he could not be Jewish but Judaic, that is plain designation of ones religious belief. Now when one prefers to live in Israel as a citizen, if this is possible, then that one is an Israeli but not a Jew.Then it will trickle down to the simple truth that one can be an Israeli but not a Jew. That's the case of the Arab and Druze Israeli. If this scenario reaches the to the point that non-Jewish Israeli is the majority is there any relevance for the state to remain JEWISH STATE of Israel?

The Jewish Machiach is descended from David, who was the great grandson of a non-Jew, and whose most influential wife was not Jewish. Nobody made a fuss about it then. Centuries after the forcible conversion of Spanish Jews in 1389, those conversos still felt they were Jewish even though they lived a different religion. " a Jew must follow the Torah and perform the miitzvot"? Absolutely. What is the ethical core of Judaism? Observing shabbat or love of the other? Eating kasher, or avoiding Leshon Harah?

Scholars tell us that if Jews had been left to live their lives in history there would have been 200M of us now. There 13-14 million of us today. Even from a pragmatic point of view it is advisable for Judaism to have a big tent with its flaps wide open to receive anyone who wishes to be Jewish. Attitudes of Jews like Moriahs will be the undoing of the Jewish people.
