The opening statement was a very strong statement and the examples that followed, in my opinion, are not strong enough to warrant such a statement.
Again, this blog is an example of anti-Israel propaganda. Israel's story is more complex than her enemies will admit. One huge example is the state of Sudan, Rama Musa's starting point.

"Sudan, which neighbors Libya and Egypt, is being used to smuggle weapons from Libya to the Sinai Peninsula and to the Gaza Strip. It is also being used by Iran to transmit weapons to Hamas. Israel was reported to have bombed an arms factory there in October."

I am aware of many of the facts pointed out in the article. Yet I was awaiting more information about the "visa-carrying South Sudanese student." Unfortunately, there was none. Nor was the evidence of a "vicious wave of anti-African sentiment engulfing Israel" clearly spelled out. Those are very strong and enveloping words.

I will be among the first to admit that Israel has work to do in the area of ethnic inclusion; from the African-Israelites making aliyah to Israel's relationships with African countries. But it is still disappointing to see Israel held to a higher standard than some of those same African countries - especially places like Sudan.

There are many Sudanese refugees currently living in Israel; some who have become Israeli citizens. They fled government-led oppression, and their stories of triumph have reached their families back home. Sudan is also one of the most vicious abusers of human rights, and a sworn enemy of Israel. We as the African Diaspora, in our zeal to hold racists accountable, must take care not to demonize something without as many facts as can be gathered; bearing in mind that there are forces out there that would have us give knee-jerk reactions to everything that LOOKS unjust.

I recognize that it is near impossible for a Black man to be an Israel apologist and not be looked at suspiciously. But such is my function these days. I do it not just because of what is happening now, but what is coming soon.
