In the interim the Dome of the Rock could be the "temple" that is talked about. all that would have to happen is for Jews (and Christians ) to be able to go there and pray. What would be wrong with that?

Yonatan Knickerbocker: Because it's bullshit. The original Temple isn't even a 'house of prayer' in the sense of a synagogue – it is a shrine to our Deity and a place where animal sacrifice takes place. The notion that 'all nations' shall pray in this Temple is premised on a return of Messiah. Perhaps we should wait for him (it's always a 'him') first, eh?

What they are saying is that ist is a hypothetical. But we all (meaning those who know anything about the true religious history of this issue) can agree that the Final Status Solution for the Temple Mount will be the third and final Jewish Temple. This has been clear since before any competing ideology to the Israelite one. The Christians tried to replace it, then the Muslims tried to replace it; the act has gotten old. Since the final act will be miraculous, we don't actually have to blow anything up. Not as if the Arabs didn't dynamite 100 ancient synagogues in Jerusalem, or are not destroying Jewish archeological evidence on the Mount. But if Hamas sent a big missile into Jerusalem and blew up the Dome, that would be miraculous enough for me to call it the will of Allah.

Come again, Tim? Jews are NOT allowed to "go up there to pray" – the wakf forbids it and the police enforce it. No need to destroy any physical buildings – just the mindset that prevents Jewish worship at Judaism's holiest site.

According to the scriptures the Temple will be rebuilt in Gods time. When the time is right it will be done whether man likes it or not. It is a very sacred place and not to be spoken of lightly in jest.
