One liberal Jewish girl said how can you go there? "Israel is nothing but a militarist state." This at the time when America was "only" knee deep in Vietnam. I've always remembered her words and the forthright authority with which she uttered them.

Years later, I thought about her remarks and felt, yes, Israel is a militarist state for the simple reason of defence. But to preface her remarks with "Israel is nothing…." shot home to me the real meaning of her political rhetoric (and the left's also). For some people, incuding I think Harris-Gershon, Israel should not exist. That is why I live here.

Besides, I think he learned his lesson as far as seeking publicity goes, at least as far as this site goes, when he ran into me and a couple other people here during this current brouhaha…

On the one hand, I appreciate you taking the fight to David Harris Gershon, because he truly is the most despicable, dishonest fraud I have ever encountered. He literally adjusts his antisemitic rhetoric to exactly the level that he thinks a given audience will handle.

However, I want to appeal to you to drop this, for the following reason: You are giving him the publicity that he so desperately seeks.

As annoying as he is, Gershon is also a nobody. All he does is blog for the same 100 people that still read Daily Kos. Other than that, he's only a substitute kindergarten teacher. Consistently for years no publisher in their right mind will touch his book. He's nothing, unless we make him something. I am worrying that we are feeding the martyr narrative that he so desperately seeks. We risk making him something he isn't with this free publicity.
