It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it –

Give me but a firm place to stand and a lever long enough, and I shall move the World.

‘Give me but a firm place upon which to stand and a lever long enough, and I shall move the world.’

Certainly a most unlikely outcome even if proposed by no less a person than that extremely clever Greek engineer and mathematician, Archimedes.

The only practical application such a procedure might have would be in averting an asteroid impact, just like the one that finished off the dinosaurs about 66 million years ago.

And if the human race is not to suffer its very own extinction level event, then some judicious ‘re-positioning’ of the planetary surface might have to considered as a serious option.
