I lived 30 minutes away from Beit Lavan for 25 years or so. I also grew up in White's house (no pun)! However, I'm sad to tell you that Israel needs USA more than USA needs Israel. Israel has one friend in the world (besides G-d) and that's USA. Many Gentiles feel great sympathy towards Israel for its sufferings in history. Furthermore, I don't hear many Jews telling Gentiles that they are akin to Lavan the scoundrel or, even yet, the Primordial Snake, which is suggested in some religious dogma. Even though your piece is thoughtful and instructive-it is typically Zionistically one-sided.
