Agreed - and this post was about my emotional connection to what Bennett had to say. Obviously, I read up on his platforms and ideas, and did my research into the other parties before deciding to vote Bayit Yehudi. Thanks for the feedback :)

"Orthodox Jews in America 2008- Don't vote for Obama- he's just a new face with new slogans. He makes liberals feel good, but has no actual plans.
An interesting read, but what I take away from it in the end is that you (and probably this is true for most people, it's just not emphasized so much) relate to politics emotionally rather than rationally.
While in our professional life most of us realize that making important decisions based on emotions is not a good idea, in public matters we tend to support policies based on how a certain speech or person stirs us, or feels repulsive, or feels boring, etc.
But when deciding on which way a country should be going, there are much more important factors than feelings... Interestingly this is self-evident in our own fields of expertise. An architect would never design a building without very carefully assessing the possible outcomes of a certain decision, and therefore his buildings are reliable. But the same architect will decide on voting for a party that makes him feel a certain way, and typically it wouldn't occur to him to weigh the outcomes with the same cold precision he uses in his work.

While emotions can be uplifting and energizing, there is a time for everything... A time for feelings and a time for cool-headed assessment.

Mazal Tov on Aliyah and integrating into your new life!

Bennett however is a disaster. A unilateral annexation of 60% of the west bank is a sure way to destroy Israel. a) It will diplomatically isolate Israel.
b) It doesn't seem logical: If you are concerned about the palestinians being dangerous then how is it wise to settle hundreds of thousands more Jews in areas of close proximity to millions of people who will surely be disenfranchied due to the annexation? This will inevitably lead to casualties.
c) Every single one of the living Shin Bet Chiefs have firmly opposed any such actions-they are all firmly in favour of a 2 state solution. Far from being dismissed as 'wishy washy lefties' these are the men who know full well the threats Israel faces. Surely they know better than Bennett who was never in such a position of authority.
