Wow a real Bibi lover! Doesn't even bother to hide his hatred. I suppose Bibi could have rolled over and played dead and given in to all Obama's and the European demands. Israel could disappear and then there would be no problems. We don't have to appease anyone. All the Europeans that voted for or abstained on the Palestinian Statehood issue – sold out and allowed Abbas to break an agreement. So what victory at Bibi's expense does this bankrupt Statehood for the Palestinians come. Out with Abbas and maybe peace has a chance.

Your perspective is back to front. I'm from the UK. The only foreign policy they want from Israel is submission to their 'advice' regarding the west bank and gaza. Also what you call Israel's weakness is in fact her strength. The left, globally will never be able to accommodate a Jewish nation because they NEED the passive Jew victim in their mind set. The end of Israel will not cause any loss of sleep in the EU because they cannot afford to police their growing muslim communities who as we know can riot any Friday after prayer. The saddest thing about Israel at the moment is if the PA state was agreed along the 48 armistice lines and then 3 months later the Sarin fell on TA and Jerusalem the left would say 'our children are dead because of the occupation' and not, 'pop! we made a mistake. If Israel is to survive it must stay right wing with its finger in the air to the EU. Anything else would be suicide and those advocators of peace from the left would actually then be the advocators of their own genocide. Fools!

Do you understand the concept of proportional representation and the inevitable fact of coalitions? The 33 seats that Likud and friends are currently polling represents about 36% of an electorate that's approx. 15% Arab – figure it out – when you factor in the near 25% of voters who are completely indisposed to support the Israeli right or religious parties, a clear majority actually does not, nor will ever support Netanyahu.

An example of bending over backwards is all the trucks of supplies going from Israel to Gaza. I understand there is fear that if they don't do it not only would Israel look bad but they would have no control over what goes into Gaza. Given all the rockets and other weapons smuggled into Gaza it only partially controls what gets in. What Israel needs to do is control a strip between Egypt and Gaza by taking over about 8 km on Gaza's southern border. Then let Egypt send supplies in in place of Israel. To check for weapons being moved in Israeli controlled x-ray machines could be used and monitored safely from a distance on screens. That would protect Israeli soldiers from trucks laden with bombs intended for them,

There's nothing loonie or 'anti-Israel' about it. It's an op-ed. It's his opinion. And a lot of it rings true. Obama's election must have been a disappointment to Bibi – who was banking on it and likely heard from Romney pollsters (like Romney) that he was on course to win. Hamas and Fatah have had massive political and military 'wins'. They are stronger than ever. Israel, under the failed Lieberman, have achieved zero foreign policy wins and have thrown away any leverage Israel may have had because our foreign policy and diplomatic efforts are utterly useless. Israel is more isolated and weak than ever. The announcement of new building in E1 means that Israel never had any intention of adhering to anything, rightly or wrongly and has thrown a massive spanner in our powers of leverage. The whole article rings true. We are weaker than when Netanyahu attained power. You have a better analysis – other than the frankly pathetic notion that you might be in govt.

Netanyahu is fully behind the desperate William Kristol/Israeli Lobby attempt to stop the Hagel nomination.

William Kristol is Netanyahu's last chance to try to salvage the agenda for a war against Iran that Netanyahu was thwarted on earlier this Fall.

What Netanyahu failed to do this Fall – William Kristol and Netanyahu's Israeli Lobby in the US are trying to do right now.

Why is pushing the US into a war on Iran so important? – why is stopping the Hagel nomination to preserve the momentum on Iran they have so carefully generated over the last decade so critical?

Can everyone imagine where Netanyahu will be once the Hagel nomination goes thru?

B*nging his shoe on podium at the UN saying Israel has a right to exist as an Apartheid state, a right to ethnically cleanse Palestine, and that Israel will keep Apartheid no matter what the UN or world does about it to try to help the Palestinians – that's where.

This is Netanyahu's exposure that he is so desperately trying to avoid – without a war on Iran, Israeli Apartheid has no cover (precisely what we are witnessing this last couple of months).

Without Netanyahu successfully hoaxing the US into a war against Iran, Israeli Apartheid is over.

Stopping the Hagel nomination is really just Netanyahu's next bite at the apple.

I agree completely. We should take stronger actions against terrorism and probably should have retaken the Philadelphia corridor. I am talking about marketing. "soft war" the image we portray. We are victimized by apartheid policies of Muslims who do not allow us to visit out own religious sites, who breach the fence in Gaza and murder Jews. We also have wounded babies, traumatized kids, old people in the South whop couldn't l;eave the house to get medicine. A Jewish woman's body was hacked into pieces in the Sharia Apartheid Iran because she disputed a mosque that ha taken. Palestinians bitterly complain about having to stand at checkpoints before entering Israel while I and you are not permitted to go to Bethlehem and visit Rachel's tomb. Jordan cautions us to not dress like Jews while Muslim women hide who knows what in their Hajib's. The more we focus on image, advertise out own horror story, the extent of our discrimination. every instance
where Jews are harmed along with our bending over backwards policies through examples that are tragic and tug at the heart strings the fewer concessions we have to make. I probably sound cynical and perhaps I am. If this is the game, let's play it and let's win at it and never ever weaken our military.

Israel has bent over backwards to the extent where Israelis have died because Israel retrained it's reactions to terrorism. It does not work. The only reason Israel is around today is because of God's will and it's military might. The same reason the USA is here today. One cannot make friends out of Jew haters. Sure the enemies of Israel have great PR machines but even if Israel had the same PR the Jew haters would still hate all Jews and the Jewish State.

The Israeli people elected and will surely reelect Netanyahu, simply because they support his policies. The Israeli people support the occupation, the settlement enterprise, and the push to marginalise the Palestinians. The world will not any of this, but arrogance has blinded the wisest people on earth.
