The only South African Jews who have made any effort to be pro-Israel and Zionistic (beyond the superficial Yom HaAtzmaut celebrations) are the ones who ultimately left the country.

It is shameful how ignorant some SA Jews are and how assimilated they have become to this "pride" brainwashing. You would swear that each one opened Mandela's jail cell themselves they way they go on about how far they have come and yet nothing has changed for the majority of them while nothing has changed for the majority of people below the poverty line.

Additionally, when you consider how anti-Israel the SA government is, well that really is something to be proud of! Their entire approach is not to rock the boat all the while the Antisemitism grows on a daily basis as does the power of the Islamic lobby.

That is not to say that there aren't still Jews in SA who are committed to fighting for Israel and thank God for them! Unfortunately, they are very hard to find these days.
