Alan, it's only great patriots like you and your pro Israel, pro peace, pro everything organisation J street who have the ability to assisit the president and his side kick Chuck Hagel (another pro peace, pro Israel politician who is funded by pro israel and pro peace countries like saudi Arabia, Bahrian, Qatar and groups like friends Hamas) to take on the all powerful Jewish lobby and the government of Israel and ensure that they give everything to the pro Israel pro peace, pro civil right, pro gay Hamas and Fatah.
The 2 state solution is a fraud. The peace process is a fraud. Just like the treaty with Egypt was a fraud. It wasn't a peace at all, maybe a cold peace, which is a truce or hudna (retreat to reinforce for a renewal of fighting) in arab terms. Do you think for one minute that if the Egyptians believed they could have delivered the ultimate knockout punch to Israel, that they would have restrained themselves in the interests of preserving the peace? Right! I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge for a mere $1,000.

The crux of the matter is their so called religion…the death cult of islam. It's "holy" book has specific instructions on how to deal with Jews, merely because they are Jews. It goes back much farther though than their pedophile prophet. Try Abraham, Hagar & Ishmael…about 4,000 years ago. They have never gotten over that. Who could make that up? How does a nation make peace with a mentality whose holy book has rocks speaking to "believers", as in "oh muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me…come & kill him". Only when the western braintrusts choose to deal with that & call it out for what it is, can any progress be made. And I doubt it will happen. Pretty difficult for 3 billion people to suddenly denounce their religion as absurd. Yet there it is in plain sight for all who allow themselves to see.

The incredibly stupid or agenda burdoned west refuses to see this or call it out. Maybe its just too hard to believe…maybe they are truly ignorant about it. I doubt that. And there are more examples of this type of imbecility than Catherine Ashton has chins.

You don't or can't make peace with those who refuse to acknowledge your right to exist. That’s a deal breaker right there. And I'm fucking tired of Israel always being the one to make concessions, while the fakestinians are only expected to look forlorn for western media. Shove it.

We need to hear their leaders say in arabic, that they recognize Israel as THE Jewish state. And they need to shout it out convincingly, not some typical mealy mouthed utterance in English, while saying something else entirely in arabic. And show some good faith; ie stop teaching their children to hate us. Until & unless any of this happens, plus a lot more frankly, I'm not interested in any peace process. I'm only interested in monitoring them until they present a clear & present danger, then I am for a Divine like Amalchitic command. (a euphemism for what I really want to say, but biblical scholars will understand) They only want Judea / Samaria because we have it. They weren't interested pre 1967. And why do we continue to support the bullshit hashemite kingdom which should never have been created in the first place? Jordan is their state. Or in the gazans case, Egypt. This pompous son of King Hussein should be sent packing ala Bashar Assad (soon hopefully).

An extraterrestrial coming upon planet Earth would look at the map of Israel & say "WTF"? It looks stupidly unnatural. No shit.

Long live Eretz Israel! And in peace.

Wrong, wrong and wrong. First of all this is not the "last chance for peace", it may not even be a chance for peace. "There is a time for peace, and a time for war" and I would add a time to sit back and see where the chips fall. And the chips are falling all over the Arab world.
I also find it amusing that Obama seems to always be at odds with other world leaders, excluding Chavez of course. Is Obama so insecure, is he so easily hurt by opinions that do not jibe with his utopian vision fo the planet?
The author has failed to explain how a peace can come around with only the W Bank, unless he believes in his heart and maybe even his brain that the split between Fatah and Hamas is only window dressing, and can be easily paved over with some messianic words from the President of the United States.
I say watchout, heads up. Whenever a new round of talks begin, Israel is expected to make compromises, while the Palestinians are to be pittied. This is not the alchemy that fortells an actual peaceful peace.

Yes Ravi. Its called survival. Something that would be lost if this false 'peace' was adopted. Tell me Ravi, will you disappear into history with the other pro Islamist trolls when Israel falls or will you be posting about the genocide the Islamists will commit to achieve their goal of a Jew free Middle East. And please don't accuse Israel of genocide. Do genocidal regimes treat their enemies in their hospitals or waste millions of dollars combating the enemies use of civillians as a weapon of war?

By all means, Mr. Obama may try to resolve the Arab Israeli conflict, but he must do so based on the fundamental elements of international law designed for that purpose, rather than based on "narratives", i.e. fictional short stories designed for momentary political expediency:

San Remo Conference, 1920.

League of Nations decisions, 1922.

UN Charter, Article 80, 1945.

UN Security Council Resolution, 242, 1967.

Do note, Mr. Obama, legally, Eretz Israel/Palestine - the name of a territory, not a nationality or a state - was partitioned back in 1921/22 when 77% of it was handed over to the Arabs who, subsequently, renamed their part of the territory Jordan. And, the rest, only 23% of it, located between the Jordan River and the Med. Sea, was assigned to be the national home of the Jewish people, which has subsequently been renamed Israel.

The essence of an accommodation of peaceful coexistence between Arab and Jew, between the Muslim-Arab world and the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel, ought to be based on implementing peacefully the above partition of the territory.

We, Jews, would stand shoulder to shoulder with your ambition to bring about such an accommodation of peaceful coexistence, but will resist you, again, if you try to ensure the Arabs can push us further toward the sea..., no matter how many of the marginal "J Street" type people stand with you in your attempt..

UN Charter, Article 80, 1945.

UN Security Council Resolution, 242, 1967.

Do note, Mr. Obama, legally, Eretz Israel/Palestine – the name of a territory, not a nationality or a state – was partitioned back in 1921/22 when 77% of it was handed over to the Arabs who, subsequently, renamed their part of the territory Jordan.

We, Jews, would stand shoulder to shoulder with your ambition to bring about such an accommodation of peaceful coexistence, but will resist you, again, if you try to ensure the Arabs can push us further toward the sea…, no matter how many of the marginal "J Street" type people stand with you in your attempt..
