Thank you for the most relevant and clear statement on this issue that I have read recently. Hasbara means "explanation' and is reactive, as is the stance of the government "let's see what they do and then. A focused campaign that spans government, PR at an effective level, uses resources available to maximum and is at least as sophisticated as what Muslim countries effectively do convincing thr world they are peaceful in intent.

I have been saying this on blogs, to people for months now and find that Israelis do not "get' the importance of PR, assume that 'our enemies will always be against us no matter what', and that I am leftist for merely suggesting that world opinion matters.

Right or left, the answer to public image is NEVER a separate department and never after the fact. I have two 'news' pages that I put our. One is ' Lost opportunities- news that should have happened' and Media bias -- (articles in mainstream media rewritten exposing biases.

Branding may seem like an odd word to use in International arenas. It is very relevant. What image are and do we aim to project. If the pictures of Israelis in media are most often soldiers in combat boots, it's a lot harder to show that WE are victimized.

I could go on. We are on the same page and it would be good to hear from you, should you be interested in taking action.
