Leon, it's all related, the fact that there is no political process (and there hasn't been for a while) strengthens Hamas. The fact that Hamas is in power in the first place is a result of us weakening the Palestinian authority by not making the 2005 Gaza disengagment within a framework of an agremment with the PA. I am not talking on behalf of my party (at this time) and I definitely don't speak for the head of my party. The positions I talk about are my own.

This is a perfect example of a straw man argument. No one is arguing that the Israeli Prime Minister should be free of criticism when the country is under attack; Levi Eshkol was subjected to fierce criticism, including in his own cabinet, in the weeks leading up to Milchemet Sheshet Yamim.

You want to argue that Bibi's refusal to cut a deal with Abu Mazen over the last three years has led to Hamas firing rockets at Tel Aviv. The two issues are unrelated. The current situation is related to the growth of Hamas' power following the prisoner swap last fall, followed by Hamas losing its power base in Syria because of the civil war there. (Not to mention the Expulsion/Evacuation from Gaza that Sharon pulled off in 2005, Haniyeh winning the Palestinian premiership in 2006, Hamas staging a successful coup in Gaza in 2007 and the results of Cast Lead). None of this is related to Bibi's policies. Bibi's policy on Hamas was not to recognize Hamas and not to negotiate directly with Hamas for the release of Gilad Shalit, only through intermediaries. Isn't that the position of your political party too? Doesn't Ms. Yachimovich, your party's candidate for PM, support those policies? Mr. Shahaf, you are the one who is raising the issue while Israel is being attacked; therefore you need to actually have an issue to raise, other than "I don't cotton to the look of Bibi Netanyahu."

I want to make a criticism of the Israeli government for fighting this latest timid war on the basis pf world opinion.
Already we know that Netanyahu and Barak are so easily restrained and influenced by the hypocritical pressure of false friends and false allies. Not even a week into 'Pillar of Cloud' and the EU, US, UN are falling over themselves to stop Israel before another victory is achieved over another Arab army.
The same world of hypocrites who have gotten used to the Muslim on Muslim genocide in Syria for 20 months now with a body count above 37,00 mostly civilians.
I am critical of how easy it is to get Israel's weak and faith challenged leaders to capitulate.
This does not bode well for the immediate future.

We all know that Hamas will stop firing rockets by Tuesday and start up again as soon as the IDF reservist are back home.
The indecisiveness by Netanyahu and Barak for 6 days now are a signal to Hamas that Israel is weak and incapable of even defeating their nascent army.
A ceasefire will be very, very bad for Israel if Hamas is not crushed now as it will encourage all of Israel's enemies that Israel is finished and ready for their final coup de gras.

Constructive criticism is fine, even productive, but criticism for the sake of criticism or even for political gain. Especially now at a time of war, is disgusting and just plain WRONG! But lefties such as yourself have no morals (or at least very twisted ones) so in your eyes it makes it OK to try to criticise and divide, when right now we need to stick together and to support each other (EVEN BB. Netanyahu). but your selfish political gains are more important than that RIGHT!
