If u were standing near Obama's birthplace in Kenya, and was told "This tribal land has been these peoples' for 2000 years," you'd be all respectful, face down with your hands in the Deacon's pose. In your diary the other day – you questioned the amount of questioning that Chuck Hagel received regarding Israel. I had that same question until I thought on it a bit. Then I took a look at who the inquisitors (NOT meant in a negative way) were and saw some sense to it. First off the lead person Kristen Gillibrand who asked more about Israel than anyone else. You familiar with her? She happens to be the Senator from NY. You know who votes a lot in NY? JEWS. They do. You know what distressed those voters… The fact that Hagel talked about the "Jewish Lobby", NOT the "Israel Lobby" but the Jewish Lobby.

You know who else dumped a bunch of questions on him? Republicans. You know why? Because they think there is a weakness there and are dogging President Obama on that. They can't dog him on Afghanistan or Al-Qaeda, the man has been President during the Afghan surge and the killing and capture of more Al Qaeda leaders than in all the years of Bush. SO.. they get him on something they perceive as a weakness.

But you… you couldn't be bothered to look that way. RATHER, you went right away to the "pro-Israel Lobby". AND even more than that, you blamed AIPAC, when AIPAC had nothing to do with this and very publicly said so. So David, how about answering to that. You would be a lot more believable when you talk about loving Israel and supporting two States if you actually made a case for that and didn't constantly play to the most racist elements of the anti-Zionist crowd.

I say this as someone who supports a real two State Solution and am considered just as much of an anti-Zionist by certain people here as you are (which is nonsense but that's another story).
