In an unprecedented turn of events, it appears that the Egyptian military is hugely compromised in fighting the Islamist menace because of the Egyptian president’s double-edge counter-terror ploy to weed out pro-U.S. influence in Cairo and cut Israel from the Sinai Peninsula.
Intelligence sources has revealed that Israel willingly acceded to Cairo’s request for permission to deploy fighter planes and armored troop carriers in Sinai, which was ruled a demilitarized buffer zone under the 1979 peace treaty.
The Israeli diplomatic-security cabinet ministers decided on advice from Washington so as not to look obstructive.
Nobody knows for sure, but the Muslim Brotherhood-ruled Egypt have become fairly adept to the tune of Iran and Pakistan’s asymmetric proxy wars, remains suspect at the very least.
After the highhanded firing last week of Egypt’s intelligence chief, General Mohamed Mowafi for failing to act on an Israeli warning of an imminent attack in the Sinai Peninsula that killed 16 Egyptian soldiers, Washington and Jerusalem strongly suspect it as the first steps in the Muslim Brotherhood’s takeover of the Egyptian army.
It is ludicrous indeed, since it was Egypt’s intelligence chief who raised the alarm for months about an impending terrorist attack on the Egyptian-Gaza-Israel border junction and urged the deployment of attack helicopters for preemptive missile attacks on their networks.
Instead of being commended, he was fired for two reasons: his pro-western and pro-Israeli orientation; and for his efforts to broker a compromise deal for unifying the two Palestinian wings, the Hamas and the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah.
The initial Egyptian and Israeli accounts of the Sinai attacks don’t match up: Egypt points the finger at the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip; Israel at Sinai. DEBKAfile postulates that Tehran harnessed its Gaza Strip proxies and a Sinai al Qaeda cell for a coordinated attack on Egyptian and Israeli military targets to avenge the presence of al Qaeda in the anti-Assad revolt in Syria under the Western-Arab aegis.
Hence, it gives credence to Iran’s veiled threat that the Syrian conflict would spill over into two more Middle East countries. Israel has been warning for years now that terrorists from global jihad groups based throughout the Middle East, alongside Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, are using Sinai as a launch pad for attacks into Israel.
In the aftermath of the attack, Egypt’s Islamist president vowed to retake Sinai and will likely ask to station more soldiers in the Golan border. This could be a turning point for Cairo in its fight over the future of Sinai, to the detriment of Israel.
Could Islamist militants who never attacked Egyptian security forces before, a false flag attack?
The sophisticated, calculated Sinai attack was bogus and deceptive; in short, a false flag attack -orchestrated by Bedouin factions adhering to Salafist jihadist doctrines and Iran’s proxies, Al Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah.
Israel blames Gaza militants for enabling the attacks. Of course, Hamas strongly denies it and declared in no uncertain terms that it would never strike Egyptian forces and would never use Egyptian territory but its own to launch assaults on Israel.
Sounds eerily familiar?
This is precisely what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is talking about the perils of the Arab Spring for Israel. Apparently, this is what Defense Minister Ehud Barak has warned us about the delicate nature of Islamists infiltration by Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood inside Syria.
Coincidentally, this is exactly what happened when Islamists stormed across the Golan border.
Israeli drones have also been secretly attacking alleged Iranian arms supply convoys making their way through Sudan on their way to Gaza via Egypt.
‘Is the U.S. government under Muslim Brotherhood influence?’
One person of concern identified by U.S. representative Michele Bachmann, and four other members of Congress is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Muslim top aide, Huma Abedin.
The grave concern is about a U.S. law compliance question in granting Abedin high level security access without fully investigating family members’ linkage to the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda.
Retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Colonel James G. Zumwalt cited a 1987 document in Arabic found hidden post-9/11 in a secret room of a Muslim Brotherhood member suspected of planning terrorist activity clearly set out the organization’s blueprint for destroying America:
“The process of settlement is a ‘civilization-jihadist process’. The Ikhwan (brothers of an Islamic religious militia) must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”
Deception is to be used to replace U.S. law with Islamic (Shariah) law — including the right, Muslim Brotherhood believes, to lie to enemies as to their true intentions.
This document was the basis of a September 2010 report entitled “Shariah: The Threat to America.” It stated the Islamist strategy “for destroying the United States is to get us, specifically our leadership, to do the bidding of the Muslim Brotherhood for them.
The Islamist document further calls for their strategic plan to be implemented slowly, in phases that enable Shariah to “creep” into U.S. culture. Following this plan, Islamists vow the flag of Islam will one day fly over the White House.
Every single one of these tactics mentioned in the document, has been employed to date by members of the Muslim community and the Council on American-Islamic Relations to implement Muslim Brotherhood’s agenda.
Despite ardent denials to the contrary, the Muslim Brotherhood-led Obama Team is clearly dictating America’s foreign policy in the Middle East.
What many Israelis and Americans do not know is that this new development in the Sinai is inextricably connected to the U.S. supported Muslim Brotherhood’s hidden agenda.
For one thing, there was a discrepant mix of accusations between Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and Israel, ditching an Iranian secret attempts in the Golan border attack.
.Israel will be in a more difficult position by allowing the Muslim Brotherhood to station more soldiers in what is supposed to be a demilitarized zone. Instead of Islamist boots on the ground, Israel can easily deploy its arsenal of drones to patrol the Sinai Peninsula.
What this means is that Israel is facing a reality along its border with Egypt that is becoming more and more similar to the situation along its border with Gaza- a number of groups all trying simultaneously and independently to attack Israel.
For this reason, it appears that there is no difference between Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas both of which shares the same vision of a global Islamic jihad based on Sharia laws, and the latter striving to destroy Israel.
As the Sinai Peninsula has emerged as the new front in Arab-Israeli conflict, it would be a tragic mistake for Israel to allow more Islamist troops to be stationed along its borders.
In the long run, there is nothing Israel can gain for subcontracting its existential security in the Sinai Peninsula.
