Thanks Elli – I am lucky to be part of a great Kehilla that exemplifies the Anglo contribution to the country. But the organizations you mean are not internal party divisions or organizations, they fullfil a different role and are funded externally.

Jonathan Baum exactly-u have absolutely no reason to vote for them. U r not their "kahal yad"-being an eng speaker is for sure not enough of a reason to vote for a party that has "anglo" representation when the rest of their agenda totally clashes with the rest of your beliefs.
openhaimer(tfu on him) is a fluent eng speaker and yahimovich as a former journalist knows eng ok-from what i understand-u have a party to vote for:):)

Well Svietka, if you're right, what possible reason would I have for voting for Yisrael Beytenu? If they've fused with the Likud, then it's obvious that Eretz Yisrael HaShlema is more important to them than a 2-State solution, which is what I'm in favor of, with all of the difficulties that it would bring.

Daniel Goldman – anglos do not need or want separate representation-we r a very small % of isr community and our needs r not much different from those from france, argentina or south africa. An ole is an ole is an ole. All olim need assistance in some way or another-except for ethiopians however, i dont think any of us need a whole "representative" in the knesset

Judy Gelman u wouldnt know a russian if he smacked u upside'dahead….russian party is non existent in isr-after russians lived for few years here they learned what real democracy is(unlike pseudo one in former soviet union)and hence, a party that was concerned only with "russian" issues didnt make the cut and evaporated.
Since late 90s olim from russia have been voting for various parties-anywhere from merez to kah…u obviously do not live here and have no idea what u r talking about and basing your "assessment" on arrogance ignorance( 2 things that go well together)

Jonathan, after the last elections, Avigdor Liberman called on the leaders of the two biggest parties (Likud and Kadima) to join with us and create a government to deal with issues like political and electoral reform and equalizing the national burden. Unfortunately, Livni could not not set aside her ego for the good of the country and the needed reform and change didn't materialize. Yisrael Beytenu have always been serious about making these changes and our record of action speaks for itself.

Danny Hershtal was 21 and by far the closest of any Anglo of any major party political list. The reason we choose a party list in this manner is give the voter an informed choice. Other lists have primaries which are open to corruption and manipulation. For example, Ahmad Tibi, if he had the time, money and inclination could apply to run on the Likud or Habayit Hayehudi list. While this might sound unlikely, I have used an extreme to prove a principle. Some of the lists have people representing wildly different worldviews so when the voter places his petek in the box he may not know to which ideology they are voting. With Yisrael Beytenu the choice for the citizen is clear and anything which gives the potential voter a clearer and more informed choice is far more useful in a democratic system to our mind.

Look, it's not like a left/center coalition wouldn't sell out to the haredim either. They've done it often enough. Our problem here in Israel is that the secular majority is divided into left and right over the Territories, and the haredim take advantage to loot and pillage the treasury. Not that I blame them: it's what they got elected to do. It's actually the larger parties on both sides that sell out their constituents

Jonathan – Yisrael Beytenu proposed a service for all bill – including the Haredim. Most Center/Left MKs did not vote for it – if they even showed up….
