In Defiance, a great movie about tough Jews during the Holocaust, in a scene where a group of Jews is praying, the leader of the group begs G-d “Please, choose another people! We’ve run out of blood, so please choose another people.”

The constant media barrage against Israel could similarly have Jews praying the media simply leaves the Jewish state alone. As Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly said last year amongst the biggest enemies of Israel are the media.

Review some recent, very clear media double standards:

In Nepal to protest China’s rule of Tibet, 100 people have burnt themselves to death in the last few years – and there’s been barely any media coverage. Could one imagine what would happen if that would be Palestinians protesting about Israel the non-stop barrage of foreign intervention, world headlines and the like? Double Standard.

Tens of thousands of Syrians have been (and are) being slaughtered by President Bashar Assad. Including house-to-house killings of women and children, this is rarely major media. Yet when Israel shoots a terrorist killer, its wall to wall media coverage for days on end.

An Israeli soccer player who plays for an European team wasn’t allowed into Dubai with his team as the UAE doesn’t recognize Israel’s right to exist – minimal media coverage. Meanwhile, a small handful of Betar Jerusalem fans doing dumb things results in two New York Times feature stories. Not a single editorial worldwide notes that UAE is government sanctioned racism against Jews and in Israel the Prime Minister and Mayor of Jerusalem condemned the fans.

As CEO of 5W Public Relations, the media bias and harangue against Israel is a constant source of aggravation. There are far more journalists devoted to covering Israel than any other country in the region – and it’s simply Anti-Semitism and undue focus. Leave Israel Alone.
