Isn't it amazing how, when someone can't counter an argument, they dismiss it as PC. I have left wingers calling me a Nazi and a monster for my never ending support of Israel and intolerant right wingers calling me left-wing and PC. I must be getting quite a lot right then.

Actually there are Muslims who believe that the hadith do NOT have the same standing as the Qu'ran and do reject much of what you quote. Just as the Hebrew Tanach and Christian Bible are subject to different interpretations so is the Qu'ran. Let me repeat again the point you are ignoring: Islam is NOT monolithic. Sufi beliefs and Wahabi beliefs are light years apart. You are stating what YOU believe "they" believe by picking and choosing what suits your agenda.

In his memoir, Naser said he made the following suggestion to them: as they were affluent enough, they should buy a land, make it home to the Jewish people and they themselves should become leaders of that land.

By quoting the above are you implying that you agree with Naser's assumption that the Land of Israel did not belong the Jews before they bought it? I am assuming that your Phd must not be in History?

Because I am simply stating what they believe. Their core belief is that Jews angered Allah for altering his words, that the Christians strayed from the true path, and that Muhammad was the final prophet and he is the Messenger of Allah and the Word of Allah; hence, the Qur'an is God's word without intervention by man. When the Qur'an states verses 9:5, 9:29, and 9:33, it is viewed as a command by All-Knower, All-Seer Allah, for it sprang from the mouth of Muhammad the Messenger and Word of Allah. These are the core teachings, shared by ALL Muslims, including Sufis.

How about this one: "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews , when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdullah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." That's from their hadith, sayings of Muhammad that were transcribed. Do not forget--Muhammad is the Messenger and the Word of Allah.

A Muslim asked, on a Islamic teachings forum, if he should take that hadith literally. This was the response: The Jews will follow the Dajjal (antichrist) and after they wipe out the Dajjal's army "The Jews will not be able to hide behind anything on that day. Every time they try to hide behind a stone, a wall, a tree (except a boxthorn tree), or animal. Allah will make these things speak and they will say, ''O servant of Allah there is a Jew hiding behind me. come kill him.''

These are their core beliefs. The only way a secular N.Af., or ME state will ever come to be is by first rejecting most of the Koran and the hadiths.

Caitlyn Martin So long as Islam's core teachings incite hate and violence against Jews, Christians, and all polytheists you clergy will always espouse what you believe to be "radical" ideals. They are simply being devout Muslims (*see verse 9:5, 9:29 & 9:33 above). And as long as the clergy is going to espouse these ideals, then any Islamic state is a threat to Jews, Christians, Hindus, Taoists, Tibetans, Aboriginals, you name it! Why do you think the Shah's Iran fell to Khomeni's Islamic Republic? Why was it called a revolution? Why was it embraced by so many? Why does this happen time and again in Islamic states, schools, mosques? Why? In Christian dogma, Jews are to blame for the death of Christ. The Church exacted punishment over the centuries--yes--but in the modern world, in a secular state, the state is all-powerful not Allah or God or Xenu. Jews are safe in a secular world, not in an Islamic world.

Once again, Islam is NOT monolithic. To claim that Islam, as in all of Islam, is incompatible with modern liberal society is simply false. Take a look at the beliefs of Sufis and compare them to Wahabis and you will see they are light years apart.
