Because Muslims can destroy the Buddha statues without enraging the world, therefore Israel should be able to destroy the Dome of the Rock and expect no reaction? I woud suggest we aim for a standard of behavior different from that of extremists. There are a number of reasons the Bayit Sheni was destroyed, aside from the Romans. HaZal suggest it was sinat khinam – free and baseless hatred – that led to the Hurban. And on a different note, do people think God wants us to return to animal sacrifice? Really?

Afghanistan is 99% Muslims, with no Buddhists. If there were Buddhists in Afghanistan, then there would have been an outrage. There are 1.3 million Muslims living in Israel, so there would be outrage if the Dome of the Rock was torn down.
