The SAJR is in bed with the SAJBD and the SAZF. Geoff Sifrin will deny it but it is self evident. The paper has become even worse over the last couple of years and I can no longer bother to write to it. It is hardly worth reading and has the feel of a publication which is 100yrs out of date.

Anthony, we are here and will not go away. SAIPAC is active as are other groups who essentially have lost faith in the manipulative self-serving leadership. Some of these groups still schmooze with the "official" bodies, but those of us who have experience of them and know better now stay away and fight the good fight for Israel and our community. What has happened here in Cape Town is a spontaneous establishments of pro-Israel groups, think of the Teat Party movement in the USA, that stand up for Israel because our "elected" officials and civil servants are so bloody useless.

I am well aware that the Krengel Brotherhood brings pressure to bear to shut us up and cut us off from the local Jewish papers, which are not the greatest anyway, but the Internet and modern communications is something they have no power to control, nor can they keep us from the Jewish community at large or our allies. Let us fight the good fight and do our best for Israel. We don't need these fools and egotists.

David Hersch, in South Africa the community leaders have feared that grassroots Internet support of Israel will weaken their "leadership".
It is rather simple. The perennial question was asked last night at Barry Shaw's lecture about Israel's hasbara accompanied by the usual whine. To paraphrase John F Kennedy, ask not what Israel is doing for you, what are you doing for Israel? It is time that every Jew, friend and ally stood up daily to be counted and applied themselves. The boring question about Israel's hasbara by most people whilst sitting on the fat or dieted arses unwilling to move a muscle in their bodies or let a neuron spark in their brains is becoming extremely tiresome.

Stand up and be counted for Israel and let us see what you can do for Israel every day of your lives.

When dealing with our haters, I offer facts which are undeniable. 100% of the time, when they cannot argue the point - out come the rehearsed lines.. "I don't speak to Israel Apologists" or " You are part of the Zionist lobby..I don't talk to them" It's become quite amusing!

Danny Ayalons videos are less than helpful hasbara. You are correct in saying that hasbara is no longer the property of Israel there are a host of "others" out there telling our story. Beauty or the opposite is in the eye of the beholder. young opinion formers have to be physically brought here kicking and screaming to get a taste of what makes Israel tick, what kind of people we are, arabs and jews living in this place and the government needs a policy which can be marketed. Its not about right or left or right or wrong its about credibility. Peres missed the opportunity when he spoke in Washington by not mentioning that we must preserve the Jewish democratic state "as a state for all its citizens 'mentioning by name every minority group after all aren't they all his citizens?
