Liora Bernstein – have you read either the PLO Charter or the PA's proposed constitution? It is no real difference than the Hamas Charter.

All call for our genocide and ethnic cleansing – Hamas calls for the genocide of all Jews in the entire world – that is the only difference.

My question would be – if the current PA government is so moderate – then why do they demand our genocide?

Why is nothing ever asked of them, only Israel? What are the Arabs willing to do be for peace? Apparently not a damn thing to date.

Mitt Romney told the truth, Muslim Arabs are incapable of making peace, with Jews, Christians or among themselves. By their religion they cannot agree to a non-Muslim sovereignty in any part of the Dar al Islam, which is where they think Israel is. Therefore, the best Israel can hope for is truce, and co-existence, based on strength and deterrence, not on fantasies.

I have been hearing how we need to 'save' and prop up Abbas since the day he took over from Arafat, with terrorist prisoner releases, and an endless well of international money to the tune of billions of dollars. Most of it pilfered.

Has this brought us any closer to peace? Last time I checked Abbas was trying to get the UN to approve a unilateral state, the full rejection of every aspect of peace. He's going back again this year, just waiting for Mr. Moshkovski's pal President Obama to pass the US elections first. As an Israeli citizen it's not my concern propping up Mr. Abbas, my only concern is propping up the State of Israel. Any candidate that realizes the realities that we are facing here in Israel clearly, as opposed to buying into Palestinian fantasy narratives, their's is the bus I am getting on. I've seen Obama's bus for 4 years now, and Abbas' for even longer. I'll take the next one.

Every time we have a "peace Process", Israelis die. Palestinians cannot make peace with Israel as it would mean loss of their national identity. Lets reduce the carbon footprint and everyone stay home. Even long standing peace treaties with Egypt are unraveling by the day. Why make peace treaties with those who don't want peace.

I am sorry to say this, but I find this article shallow and not up to the expected standards for someone with the writer's qualifications. It is just an excuse to "Romney bash" on the Isareli-Palestinian issue, where the focus is on the Presidential elections. This sullies the integrity of the writer, in my opinion. I am a staunch believer in peace and territorial compromise, but let's face it, we truly have no-one to talk to on the Palestinian side, and the Left does not have a leader of the calibre necessary to challenge Netanyahu.

If any form of Israeli-Palestinian peace process is ever going to get properly under way, some means of opening that window and, most important of all, keeping it open thereafter, will have to be found. It will not be discovered in the mindsets of Israelis or Palestinians; they are much too close to the problem to view it with the necessary dispassion and objectivity needed.

Only a method of external leverage, extreme and autonomous, can possibly be of much use at this late stage in the game.
