Hi Shawn!
Nice take. I never understood the quote to mean all Arabs hate their children, just as I don't understand it to mean that all Israelis love theirs. There is an environment in a faction of Arabs of encouraging children to martyr themselves, and, among a certain contingent, the willingness to place children in harm's way. I think that's what Golda Meir meant, based on other quotes and the way she presents her beliefs in her autobiography. That when those specific groups love their children more than they hate us - ie, are no longer willing to glorify martyrdom and write songs and produce television shows encouraging children to don suicide belts, and Hamas et al are no longer willing to place launchers next to schools, we can have peace.

Glad you didn't need the shelter you couldn't find!
