The Bnei Menashe claim descent from one of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel, who were sent into exile more than 27 centuries ago. They have continued to practice Judaism, including observing the Sabbath, keeping kosher and celebrating the festivals. More than 2,000 Bnei Menashe have moved to Israel in the past decade.
