If you think Donald Trump is not electable…think again.

I have invented a new word; “dumbicity,”  Definition;  “having to do with or relating the state of being dumb. The inability to learn from the past and hence repeat the same error over and over.”

The birth of “dumbicity” began with the success of “The Simpsons” on television. It turned adulation of the non -thinker…the non-achiever into an art form. It was hailed as a creative coup!  It forgave every child and adult who was lazy and too bored with their lives to educate themselves out of their mundane existences.  It set a new acceptable low standard and the masses loved it.

The ascension of Mr. O. to the U.S. presidency set an unprecedented standard for future elections. The American people elected a man with little political experience, questionable associations, non-American heritage and unknown values to the most important position in the free world. The reason:  simply because he was eloquent, charming, good looking, a terrific talk show guest, and a man with the right skin color for the needs of a dissatisfied electorate. It was a nation thrilled by the promise of “Change” and the candidate’s mastery of social media, which never demanded to understand exactly what kind of change the candidate really had in mind. After all, with such charisma…how bad could his “change” be?

Enter Donald Trump…the current front runner in an abyss of Republican hopefuls. A man who refers to himself as “The Donald” can’t be all bad.  That kind of ego must have substance behind it, mustn’t it?  He stands for nothing but making vast profits. He changes his opinion on every issue. He has no platform that could be implemented. But he has “star quality.” Not unlike his predecessor on the other side of the aisle. If the American electorate does not grow up quickly, the “dumbicity” factor will be the deciding factor. Star quality will glisten and the American people will shake their heads in dismay when they realize once again that the Emperor has no clothes!  Real proven leaders are now found to be boring in the modern age of sound bites and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. It is now time for voters to take their mandate seriously.

It appears that human beings are indeed unable to learn from history. Proof: Barbaric Isis is not sufficiently terrifying the free world and no massive International effort exists to bring it to its’ knees. Proof: The world’s great powers support, embolden and agree to supply Iran with arms capable of delivering nuclear warheads. This honor endowed upon  a fundamentalist Islamic State  which funds world terrorism and threatens the very survival of the State of Israel.  Do Americans even notice?

The greatness of Democracy is that every mature person has a vote to determine his future. The founding fathers must be turning in their graves knowing that their dreams and principles are being trivialized by States that allow illegals to vote…and allow people to vote more than once… not to mention the votes of the dearly departed which insinuate themselves into the totals. That such a sacred right is trod upon and is not taken seriously by the populace is beyond explanation. Does anyone even recall how momentous the right to vote actually is?

The “dumbicity factor” foretells an apathy that will result in a pathetic future for the people of the once greatest country on earth. Unfortunately their mistakes in judgement not only impact on their own country, but on the entire world.

The odds of a quality candidate becoming the next President of the United States are diminishing with every day. “The Donald rules!”
