What a lovely personal story to connect to a great new way to celebrate Tu B'Shevat. When my parents moved to their first house in NJ after I was born, they planted trees and bushes. We still occasionally drive by that house to see how tall those trees and bushes have grown. We've been growing our own vegetable garden since moving to Israel two years ago, and it's connected me to the land (this land) in a way I never was connected before.

What a beautiful explanation of this holiday! Despite the fact that, intellectually, I have learned previously what the chag is about, you have given depth to my understanding of it so that I can now connect to the celebration on a much more meaningful level. And for that, I am grateful.
