Dear Rabbi Navon,
Since you are so fond of quoting rabbis, I thought you should read this quote:

Abraham and his descendants were not bona fide Jews. Some, like the forefathers, observed all the Mitzvot, despite not having the stauts of being Halachically Jewish. Many just observed the Noachide laws. Abraham actually just introduced monotheism and observance of Noachide laws. It is only after the Torah was given on Mount Sinai was there a full-fledged conversion for the Jewish people – (source: Talmud Kritut 8b-9a).

Have a wonderful day!

We hope this has been helpful. With blessings for success,

Rabbi P. Waldman

The $10,000 Torah Challenge has been up and running for 3 weeks now. Not one single rabbi has even attempted to give an answer.
Judaism passes thru the mother merely because the rabbis say so; not because of what is written in the Torah!
The Torah clearly says it is permissible to marry Canaanite virgins. How could God have told Moses, orally, that Judaism passes thru the mother and then made a written law which says it is okay to marry Canaanite virgins? Do you think it is possible the rabbis are lying?

A link to this Torah challenge has been sent to:

Prime Minister of Israel.
President of Israel.
The Jewish Agency.
The Director of the Chabad Movement.
The AISH Educational Foundation.
The Progressive Jewish Movement.
The Conservative Jewish Movement.
The President of Brandeis University.

and countless other Jewish Institutions and synagogues.
Yet, not one single rabbi has responded. Why not?

This is an interesting parashat, don't you think? The rabbis claim that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were not really Jews, merely Hebrews. Furthermore, the rabbis acknowledge that amongst the Hebrews the covenant and the rights to the land passed thru the father. Since this week's torah portion clearly says that God made his covenant with the "mere" Hebrews Abraham, Isaac and Jacob...and that the land was given to them....doesn't this mean that when the Jewish agency is deciding who comes to Israel and who gets automatic citizenship it should be determined by the father, not the mother?

Of course, the rabbis claim that Judaism passes thru the mother is total and complete nonsense, nevertheless, this passage clearly shows that inheritance of the land passes thru the father...
