Ravi, yours is a common misconception. Even the "moderate" Mahmoud Abbas espouses peace in English but tells Palestinians in Arabic that a peace agreement is only the first step to turning all of Israel into a Palestinian state. Don't forget that settlements (which I call "cities") occupy about 3% of the West Bank. If Muslims lived there, it would be a non-issue. Since Abbas has promised that no Jews will be allowed in Palestine (and they have a death penalty for any Muslim who sells land to a Jew), all of a sudden, it becomes magnified.

Settlements are not the problem at all. Israel has removed settlements from Sinai and from Gaza and would do so again if a peace treaty could be reached. The only obstacle to peace today is Arab intransigence, nothing else. In 2008 Prime Minister Olmert offered the Palestinians an area equal to the 1949 armistice line (there never were agreed borders between 1949 and 1967) with land swaps to allow for current demographics. He would have divided Jerusalem and put holy sites under international stewardship. He would have offered compensation to refugees. Mahmoud Abbas didn't even grace the offer with a response. Settlements are an excuse, nothing more.

A "Two State Solution" my eye. How about a "Four State Solution" instead? After Gaza and Jordan you want to have Judea and Samaria, as well? And your fabled "67 lines" are actually The Armistice Lines of 1948 ( or even the partition demarcation of 1947).

Seems only Mickey Mouse can stop your ranting, Ravi. And look what happended when Pali TV put an anti-semite ranting rat on its morning kiddy shows. Disney Inc. stepped in and had it removed.

When a the combined arab countries went to war against Israel , in 1948, when they rejected their own state, and 1967 , again, when King Hussein announced over the radio, "kill the Jews, " Israel wasn't IN the "disputed territories.
The primary obstacle to peace today is the settlement enterprise. A large segment Palestinians, however grudgingly, have recognised Israels right to exist. Having won this "victory" Israel should have moved fast to agree to a 2 state within the 67 borders, then incrementally create conditions for a phased hand over of the Territory, and work on building a lasting peace. Instead the Israelis are building settlements, which have destroyed the 2 state solution, and chances for peace.
