Amen. My memories of snow mostly involve shovels and aching backs and shoulders. I think one of the reasons I moved to Israel was to get the #$%^ AWAY from snow.
OK, there were sleds, snowcastles, and jumping off walls into drifts, too. Still, on the whole, I can give snow a miss.

You can enjoy it for me – I'm a big winter grouch! No way, no how, not interested… If I could somehow parachute in just for an afternoon (with appropriate winter gear, and without driving hours to get there on cruddy, slippery roads) I might be persuaded to enjoy the snow a bit but as it is, no thanks, or in the words of someone more famous than I – "bah humbug!" Twenty-plus years of Rockland winters were more than enough for me.

Nice article Laura. In Israel I'm a cross between the happy-go-lucky and over-reactor you described In America I was definitely the grouch after the first pretty snowfall that was inevitably followed by months of dreary gray 4 ft high snow banks and slush everywhere!
