To a liberal Westerner, restraint is admirable. To some non-Westerners, it is a sign of contemptible weakness and is responded to accordingly.
I am always wryly amused when I see the multi-culti crowd engage in Western cultural provincialism by projecting Western attitudes onto "the other"

I don't justify any violence, though it must be stated that israel is an occupying force in Palestine and as such international law does state that any occupying force may be engaged to try and force them to leave. You can't tell me that if the tables were turned that israeli's wouldn't be carrying out the same actions because that's exactly what israeli terrorists did to force the British and Palestinian Gov. to create the state of israel. This is simplified yes but still I wish people would stop justifying violence by anyone be it israeli or Palestinian aggression and call either entity out on what they do rather than try to give reasons for it.

Dear Alex Stein, the main problam is contridiction in terms. as far as the palestinian's are concern, the fact that for 8 years they are shooting morters every day at Israeli civilians is "ok".
for some reason that does not "count". the fact that Israel does not respond to 1 or 2 morters being shot at Sderot, is interpreted by them as weackness rather than restriant, and only encourage them to shoot more.
for some reason they think it is their god given right to shoot at Israel. and then, when we react with full force, or take down a major terrorist like Jabary "we started"…
and another thing. for years all the critics of Israeli polices at the west bank are telling us that if we will only withdrawal from all of the west bank and dismentle all settelments their will be peace. well guess what, on August 2005 Isreal did all that in the Gaza strip and things only got worse. What an encouragement they are giving us to vote for peace and concessions…
