Tell us the hostages are alive and well!

Just as Jacob was informed by Serah, his granddaughter, that his beloved Joseph is alive and well, so the family of Israel needs to know that the hostages are alive and well.

Serah, wherever you are in heaven,

Or between heaven and earth, please respond:

Tell us the hostages are alive and well,

As you sang to Jacob that Joseph lives.

Bring us good tidings, you, in your goodness,

Entered everlasting life, in Eden.

Thus, always near us, as an Angel of G-d,

As when Joseph’s brothers asked that you sing,

Yet, once more, tell us, all will be well again.

We await your sweet song of assurance,

After the pain of tortured endurance,

Beyond time and space, they and we need it;

Now, to ensure that Jacob and they heal.

For that we need God’s immediate seal.
