A Devil’s Welcome

In her latest shameful outrage, Rashida Tlaib, the first Palestinian-American woman to be elected to Congress, made the following comments while discussing the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians during an appearance on the Yahoo News podcast “Skullduggery.”
“There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports.”

Then she added this:

“And, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And, I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways, but they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it forced on them.”

This is a classic example of revisionist history. It is at worst, a shameless and deliberate distortion of reality, or at best, a total ignorance of the history of the Jewish people, whose historical claim to their Jewish homeland of Israel goes back over three thousand years. At the same time, it is a gross fabrication of the history of the Palestinians.

The people known as Palestinians were originally the Jews, living in what was then known as Judea. After the Romans, conquered Jerusalem, and triumphed in the destruction of the Holy Temple, they changed the name from Judea to Palestina, to demean their Jewish subjects, and to remove the Jewish sounding name of Judea from the historic land of the Jews. Thus the Jewish inhabitants were referred to as Palestinians, living in Palestina, which became known as Palestine.

The Arab “Palestinians” of today renamed themselves as “Palestinians” after the state of Israel was recognized and Jews were given a UN mandate to return to their homeland.

The nefarious lie perpetrated by Tlaib, and today’s reinvented Palestinians, is even more evil than people realize. The sinister, Machiavellian plot, is what defines the Palestinian leaders today, as they propagate the same antisemitic smears against the Jews used by Tlaib’s “ancestors,” who aligned with Adolf Hitler, in their campaign to annihilate the Jews and wrest control of their homeland.

The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, al-Husseini, a virulent antisemite and the founding father of the Arab national movement in Palestine, denied that the Jews had any rights at all to their Jewish homeland.

In 1920 Britain was handed the mandate for Palestine with the understanding that they would follow through on the commitment of a Jewish National Home in Palestine, as outlined by the Balfour Declaration of 1917. But al-Husseini began a carefully orchestrated campaign to eradicate the Jewish presence from Palestine by instigating riots and violence against the Jews. These pogroms intensified as a greater number of Jews attempted to emigrate to Palestine, leading the British to enforce stricter immigration controls in an effort to quell the pogroms. This was exactly the effect al-Husseini had hoped to achieve.

As a result in May, 1939, as the Holocaust began, the “White Paper,” denounced in the British Parliament by Winston Churchill as a “moral blow,” limited Jewish entry into Palestine to 75,000 over the next five years.

Edi Cohen, author of “The Mufti and the Jews” writes, “Had it not been for the Arab Revolt of 1936-1939, led by al-Husseini, it is distinctly possible that British policy towards Jews fleeing Nazi persecution would have been more benign.”

The Mufti of Jerusalem influenced a change in British policy condemning thousands of Jews to death in Nazi extermination camps. During the Holocaust, al-Husseini met with Hitler to discuss the Final Solution as a means of preventing Jews from leaving Europe and emigrating to Palestine. Not only did the Arabs not save Jews from the clutches of Hitler, they actively tried to prevent them from coming to Palestine, preferring that they be killed in Europe. They were undeniably responsible for the deaths of thousands of Jews who were prevented from saving themselves by emigrating to Palestine.

A little known piece of history about al-Husseini’s intentions was revealed by Israeli researcher and journalist Haviv Canaan, who discovered that the Mufti planned to build crematoriums for the Jews in Samaria. He based his conclusions on the testimony of Faiz Bay Idrisi, a senior Arab officer in the British Mandatory police. He states, “The Mufti’s master plan was to build giant crematoriums like Auschwitz.” Canaan said an elderly diplomat in Germany revealed that had Rommel been successful in conquering the Middle East, the fate of the Jewish people would have been “bitter and horrific.”

Not only did the Arabs not “provide shelter” for the Jewish refugees returning to their homeland after the Holocaust, as Tlaib outrageously claims, but they immediately attacked the Jews, who had agreed to live side by side with the Arabs upon their return. Far from welcoming, the Arabs instigated war after war, refusing to live in peace.

In 1948 the Arab nations, in their determination to expel all Jews from the newly mandated State of Israel, waged war against the new Jewish state. They encouraged their fellow Arabs living in Israel to leave until Israel was defeated. This did not work out as planned. Israel was victorious in this defensive war. The Arabs could have returned to live in peace. They chose instead to remain permanent refugees.

Jews living in Arab lands were subjected to violent, deadly pogroms after the Holocaust, largely due to the incitement fomented by the Grand Mufti. They were forced to abandon their homes and property and flee to Israel, where they were absorbed into Israeli society. They never claimed refugee status. The Arab nations refused to welcome their brethren, choosing instead to create a false narrative of Israeli aggression and oppression, as being responsible for their self imposed permanent refugee status.

The Arab leaders of today continue the legacy of al-Husseini, totally denying all claims of the Jews to their Jewish Homeland of Israel. Congresswoman Tlaib perpetuates this false narrative, continuing the legacy of al-Husseini in a bazaar distortion of historical facts.
