A wonderful country?

In the 70 years plus that I have lived in Israel I could never have imagined a situation as the one  in which we find ourselves today.

That we would allow a tyrant to rule us, to the extent that we are no longer of capable of thinking for ourselves.

Pray for all those innocent HAREDIM-ultra orthodox Jews, who are being placed in danger because BIBI is playing patsy with their lives. He is allowing them to carry on as if CORONA did not exist. Large gatherings, prayer meetings and weddings ( to which they invite their whole communities)  are taking place almost  daily.  In this way,  Bibi holds the Haredi leaders in the palm of his hands. They are assured to continue to vote for and support him. Tomes will be written about this in the future but, that  will not help us or them.

Citizens of  Israel wake up! We tried  in the past to change the ELECTORAL SYSTEM to one  in which MK’s would be accountable to constituents. Had we succeeded, what we are witnessing today could not have happened.Today its merely follow the leader and he is a Dictator. With few exceptions like MK’s Miki Haimovitz and Assaf Zamir, no one in the actual Government, has the guts to stand up and say “I am not playing this deceitful game”The somewhat reduced opposition does its best to react!

It is patently evident that no one is accountable. The word, actually does not exist in the Hebrew dictionary. The Israeli public can be brilliant and obtuse at the same time. I hope someone out there has a  developed a blueprint for how a future society in Israel, will evolve.

Hardly a soul even realises that we wouldn’t have half of the social benefits  that we enjoy without the socialistic systems which were put in place during the time of the British Mandate.CRY FOR MY BELOVED COUNTRY AND THE DREAMS WE HAD. The ONLY hope is that those who take to the streets across the width and breadth of our country, will have the stamina to carry on, for they are the descendants of the pioneers and the holocaust survivors. For that to be assured, we need to see genuine signs, agendas, protocol, not just slogans. The Meshutefet- United Arab party is working for this….so should everyone else be!

If one wants to take a proactive stance, one does not necessarily have to take to the streets. Apart from the banners on your houses you can call or write to everyone in the Knesset. All the information is on Google. They will get the message, because the details of their aides also  appear there. With this inflated government which in itself is obscene, there hundreds of people getting a living wage. Jobs for the boys or girls, as assistants, secretaries, drivers providers of food and whatever else it takes to keep an unwieldy and immoral institution as it is today, going?

So do not give up or give in. This is our country and even the most well meaning of our family or friends who live overseas are helpless to help us!

There’s a popular satirical programme called Eretz Nehederet it means “wonderful (lovely) country” However at the end  after slanging everything, they ask the public not to give up on us! Kitsis the presenter says”Remember you have a wonderful country.”

Hear, hear I say. Tongue in cheek? Perhaps.
