Antisemitism and The Law of Attraction

What You Put Into The Universe, You Attract | Credit: Shana Meyerson

I have been a warrior in the fight against antisemitism for decades. I have earned my stripes, my badges, my metals. Five Star General rank earned.

It is only recently that I have immersed myself in the theory of manifestation, The Law of Attraction. And everything has shifted.

I’m sure you’ve heard, what you resist will persist. And what you give attention to is what you will draw to you.

Let’s give a concrete example. Say you have a positive and powerful goal to lose 50 pounds. So, you create a mantra that says “I will lose 50 pounds!” Wow! That sounds so empowering, doesn’t it?

It is!

But not in the way that you think.

You see, when you say you will lose 50 pounds, it is sending a message to the Universe that  you have 50 pounds to lose. So, the Universe responds by ensuring you always have the extra 50 pounds you need in order to fulfill your goal.

Crazy, right?

If instead, you create a mantra that says, “I have a perfect body that is healthy and beautiful,” now the Universe responds by ensuring  you always have a perfect body that is healthy and beautiful. Your actual goal.

Mind. Blown.

And it works. I can tell you first hand. It works.

So, how does this concept relate to antisemitism?

We, as a community, have been so enraged by antisemitism, so deeply offended, that we have literally waged a war on it. Our mantra of “fight antisemitism” actually commands the Universe to make sure there is always antisemitism to fight.

We, as a community, have been so enraged by antisemitism, so deeply offended, that we have literally waged a war on it. Our mantra of “fight antisemitism” actually commands the Universe to make sure there is always antisemitism to fight.

In very simple, tangible ways, you can see it on social media. Every time someone reposts an antisemitic post or Tweet by Name-The-Antisemite-You-Love-To-Hate with the goal of fighting or exposing that person, that post multiples over and over and gets more and more attention…both from the people who agree with you, and the people who disagree. That post actually helps the antisemite to get their message across by spreading it even further!

Knowing the incontrovertible scientific truth that energy once created cannot be destroyed, the same exact thing happens with the energy that you put into the Universe with your thoughts and intention. You fight antisemitism with your heart and soul and your heart and soul sends thoughts of antisemitism out into the Universe for anyone and everyone to receive.

So, what do we, the Army of Tolerance, do? Do we sit down and shut up?

No! Never! As in ever!

But here is what we can do:

We can reframe our messaging away from fighting antisemitism to promoting the love of Jews and all the incredible things that we, as a people, represent.

You can see how the world has openly embraced such unapologetically Jewish pop culture as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Shtisel, Fauda, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Jewish Matchmaking, Fiddler on the Roof, and the list goes on. People don’t watch these shows and think, “Oh, Jews! Yuck!” All they do is turn on entertainment and they are entertained. Without judgment or agenda, they get what they seek: entertainment. And in the process, subconsciously they are creating positive associations between Jewish people and enjoyable entertainment.

As another example—going back to the concept of social media—you can make a post or Tweet about Jewish philanthropy, Israeli biotech, Jewish Nobel Prize winners, or Kabbalistic theory (again, to name a few). Now what are you putting into the Universe? You are telling people “Jewish people are good,” “Jewish people contribute to the greater good,” and “so many amazing things have come out of the Jewish world.” And now, when people repost and retweet, they are magnifying positive thoughts and vibes surrounding the Jewish people and the Jewish culture.

Simple as that. We stop the fight and start spreading light.

I understand if this seems like a bunch of absurdity at face value—at first, it did to me, too—but the more I have thought about it and meditated on it, the more it makes sense.

Reprogram your mind and your words, and you reprogram your Universe.
