Alecia Sachs of Miami, Florida, is the co-chair of Chapter Leadership Development, the Annual Planner for the Hadassah West Geographic Area and a member of the Hadassah Writers' Circle. Having joined Hadassah in 1981, Alecia served in many chapter positions, including president. From 2000-2003, she was president of the Greater Miami Region and then went on to become the National Young Leaders Advisory Council (NYLAC) chair and National Hadassah’s Young Judaea Camps chair. In 1996, Alecia was selected to participate in a Young Leaders Mission to Israel, a highlight among her Hadassah experiences. Currently, like many of her fellow mission participants, she is a member of Hadassah’s National Assembly. A math specialist, Alecia worked as an adjunct professor of mathematics at Miami International University and a full-time math teacher to learning disabled high school students, as well as teaching honors geometry. Alecia and her husband Ed, a CPA, are the parents of three adult children -- Dustin, Mallory and Eric -- and have three grandchildren. Part of a three-generation Hadassah family, Alecia and Ed have been Young Judaea and Camp Judaea Founders since Hadassah’s 2006 Convention in Nashville.
