Barak Cerf is the Hebrew Department Chair for Grades 6–12 at Maimonides School in Brookline, Massachusetts, where he has developed six pathways connecting Hebrew language, literature, Jewish identity, Israel, external assessment, and university recognition. Previously, he held Hebrew teaching and educational leadership positions at schools, universities, and community programs throughout the Boston area, and taught officers through the U.S. Air Force Culture and Language Center. He holds degrees from Brandeis and Ben-Gurion universities and a school leadership certificate from Harvard. Before entering education, he served in operational and command roles in Israeli intelligence. He is also the author of זאת הארץ (This Is the Land) and a Lookstein Center essay on Hebrew achievement and educational leadership.
